Sabrina Dvorak, FNP-BC, Founder of EHC, Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner
Sabrina has been in health care for over 20 years. She attended Kansas University Medical Center and worked as a RN in the intensive care unit, pre-surgery, and post-surgery departments. She has experience in hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and clinics.
After witnessing patients become increasingly ill over the years, she chose to transition into a preventative healthcare role and became a Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Regis University.
Sabrina intuitively recognized that merely prescribing medications to treat symptoms was not the solution. To enhance her approach, she has taken numerous classes, including those from the Institute of Functional Medicine. She actively participates in workshops and conferences, such as those hosted by the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI), to uncover the root causes of symptoms.
By employing a Functional Medicine approach combined with Evidence-Based Medicine, she aims to understand why you feel the way you do and work to reverse the causes of your illness, utilizing both pharmaceuticals and herbal medicine as well as advanced testing.
Her comprehensive understanding of the body, mind, and spirit, bolstered by her certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Reiki therapist, and Certified Massage Therapist, enables her to guide you back to your True Self. It is truly her life passion to provide health coaching that empowers each patient to be their best self!
Kim Gensler, Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach
I’ve always been a passionately curious and creative individual, yearning for a life that was unique and ‘out of the ordinary’. This desire to experience life led me around the world from a young age. In 2009, I decided to follow my heart back to South Africa, where I lived for 14 years. It was the wildness and adventure of this beautiful country that inspired me to become a safari guide, offering people from around the globe unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences in the African Bushveld.
After several years in the bush, my curiosity, creativity, and love of learning guided me toward a new journey—developing my photography skills. In 2013, I launched a photography business, capturing the essence of families and children for about eight years.
Then in 2021, I found myself at a crossroads and felt it was time for a change. Reflecting on my life full of adventures and experiences, I realized that one constant theme was my passion for functional medicine.
I was fortunate to begin learning about functional medicine at the age of 25, which greatly influenced my lifestyle choices. After a car accident in 1997 left me with a broken back, I developed bowel and skin issues likely caused by various medications and treatments. I consider myself lucky, especially for having an open mind towards the functional medicine approach to health and wellness.
I obtained my functional medicine health coaching certification through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, in collaboration with IFM, which is regarded as the gold standard in coaching programs. Currently, I am preparing for the National Board Exam scheduled for early March.
From a young age, I learned that life is precious, and it is entirely up to us to shape the lives we want to live. We can choose to let our obstacles consume us or view them as life experiences and opportunities for growth, embracing the principles of preventative healthcare along the way.
